The caffeine is starting to wane and I’m feeling slightly sleepy. I know! Ridiculous! There’s no napping in read-a-thons! So, rather than succumb, I figured I would pop down the hall for an update.
I finished Homicide in Hardcover and really enjoyed it. Dear Kate Carlisle: I should like more Derek Stone, please! I’m glad it’s the first in a series that is already at book number sever. Lots of reading for me, but I’m thrilled to find a(nother) good cozy mystery series. I’m also thrilled for myself at having detected the murderer!
After a little laundry and washing-dishes break, I started Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole. It’s an epistolary novel and, 35 pages in, I’m enchanted.
“I should have told you, should’ve taught you to steel your heart. Taught you that a letter isn’t always just a letter. Words on the page can drench the soul. If only you knew.”
Maybe you should have made it six cups of coffee…
