The events of 2020 are still vivid in my mind, of course. Yet I was intrigued by this book and ended up really enjoying it. A science-forward comprehensive look at what the author has termed “the plague year.” I thought it was engrossing. From the early attempts to cover things up in China to some baffling responses here in the U.S., I found this book very interesting. I also appreciated how the author wove in the other major events from 2020 and looked at them through the lens of COVID-19.
