Subpar Parks: America’s Most Extraordinary National Parks and Their Least Impressed Visitors, by Amber Share

We all know those people. The ones who never seem happy. The ones who seem to seek out the negative in any situation. In Subpar Parks, author and illustrator Amber Share sought out the most negative reviews from visitors to National Parks and created some extraordinary art. Using text from these one-star reviews, she draws out the beauty of the place and accents it with humor and irony. Share’s art reminds me of old-fashioned travel posters, which I’ve also been somewhat intrigued by when I see them. The comments make me chuckle and the commentary makes me want to make my own travel plans ASAP.
