Plot: It’s fall in Dixie and Liv’s schedule is as scary as a gruesome Halloween costume. She’s helping to plan a businesswomen’s retreat, a charity fundraiser, and an elaborate engagement party, not to mention urging her husband to continue working on their crumbling Victorian and managing the spoiled and meddlesome Morgan Robison. Morgan is the daughter of the town’s bank and she’s used to getting her way. But she was able to get a celebrity psychic – Morgan’s former college roommate – to speak at the women’s retreat, so Liv is trying to cut Morgan some slack. At the retreat, Morgan’s celebrity guest, Lucinda, leads the ladies to a nearby cemetery so they can witness her channel the dead. When a member of the group wanders away, the women scatter to search for her, ending up back at the lodge where they are staying – and stumbling over Morgan’s body, her face morphed into a gruesome death smile. Liv is determined not to get involved with the investigation, but feels pulled into the murder mystery more and more.
