About halfway through this book, I posted a question to the author on Instagram: “Are you going to break my heart?”

She did.

But she also put it back together again.

The Seven Year Slip is delightful. It’s the story of Clementine, a smart, witty, and savvy book publicist who has spent years traveling the world with her aunt. Clementine has grown up with her aunt’s magic touch and her stories, particularly how her apartment can “slip” through time. She tells young Clementine how, when she was at a crossroads in her life, the apartment slipped her through time, where she met the love of her life. Though she has heard the story over and over, Clementine never really believed that her aunt’s home could magically travel through time. Until it happened to her.

I so enjoyed this love story. It is heartfelt and funny, with charismatic lead characters and a couple of plot twists that made me gasp aloud and brought me to tears. If you like the movie “The Lake House,” this book is for you!
