After the isolation of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the differences between those who are more introverted and those who are more extroverted have seemed more prominent than ever before. I found myself involved in more frequent conversations with colleagues and coworkers about work, life, and communication styles, which prompted me to revisit Quiet.
And I’m so glad I did.
This time, I listened to the book on Audible. Some of it was immediately familiar; other pieces seemed to jump out more clearly. My commutes to and from my office were filled with Susan Cain’s research and writing and I spent long stretches in silent contemplation of the concepts. After listening to the whole book, I pulled out my physical copy once more and scanned the chapters. Highlighter and red pen in hand, I marked up key pages and passages for ease of locating them when I need to reference this remarkable work in the future.
I cannot recommend this book strongly or highly enough!
