Inside the Author’s Studio with Rosie A. Point

  1. Sketch of working little people with book.

What is your favorite word?   “Perfidious.” But only because of the way it rolls off the tongue. Or perhaps I’m living vicariously here: I’d never have the guts to call someone a “perfidious wretch” in real life.

  2. What is your least favorite word?   “Suddenly.” Because if you have to say something happened suddenly, it wasn’t all that sudden.

  3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually, or emotionally?  Food and writing. Trying new dishes in the kitchen. Failing at it and trying again. Cooking and baking really get my creative juices flowing. And writing, of course, because it’s what I do all day.

  4. What turns you off?  Any kind of disturbance in family or home life. Family comes first and if anything is off in that department it affects everything in my life, and particularly my ability to create.

  5. What is your favorite curse word?  I’ve been known to spout expletives in those “stubbed toe moments,” but I generally stay away from them. I want to say “bullshit.”

  6. What sound or noise do you love?  Rain on the roof.

  7. What sound or noise do you hate?  That squeaky marker noise. It makes me want to break things!

  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?   Chef! (I’d need loads of training, though).

  9. What profession would you not like to do?  Anything engineering related. I think I’d be terrible at it and cause disasters of epic proportions.

  10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?  “Come inside, hon, there are books and snacks waiting. Oh, and Cleo’s here. too.” (Cleo was one of my first cats and she passed recently.)

35382653Hot off the presses: The Fiesta Burger Murder!

Boston Homicide Detective, Christie Watson, wants nothing less than to bury her head in the sand in her hometown, Sleepy Creek, Ohio. Placed on sabbatical for a little ‘over-enthusiasm,’ Chris has to stay out of trouble or risk losing her job for good, and Sleepy Creek, with its clapboard homes and peaceful milieu, seems just the place to do that. But returning to Sleepy Creek means facing the one cold case she’s never solved: her mother’s murder.

The past becomes the least of her worries, however, when a man is murdered in her best friend’s back yard. Griselda, awesome human being all-round and owner of the local Burger Bar – serving scrumptious delights like the Mexican Fiesta Burger – is the prime suspect. To make matters worse, the handsome detective in charge of the case won’t quit asking questions or drop the icy professionalism whenever Chris counters with her own.

Det. Watson can’t let this one slide – sabbatical or not, she won’t let her friend wind up behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit. Equipped with her cop skills, and that thirst for truth, she sets off to solve the murder before it’s too late.

15895139_804608669708471_2203823431704077330_nRosie A. Point is the new burger-lovin’ cozy mystery writer on the block. She’s passionate about all things cooking and spends evenings devising new recipes to put in the backs of her books.

Rosie loves books, burgers, and cats – not necessarily in that order. Her pet kitty, Curly Fries, isn’t as naughty as she makes out in her books. When she’s not lying awake in bed, plotting the next murder, ahem, cozy mystery, she’s out shopping for fresh ingredients, reading, or playing online games.

Rosie wants to hear from you! Whether it’s about a recipe or one of her books, or just a character that you loved or loved to hate, don’t hesitate to reach out.
