As someone with experience as an event planner, I completely understand the challenges, the frustrations, and the moments that make you feel like you are going to kill someone. I’m happy to say that I have never actually followed through with the impulse. Neither has Dixie, TN party planner Liv McKay. She has, however, stumbled upon two bodies while planning a fortieth anniversary party of a pair of high maintenance clients. Before you can whistle Dixie, Liv and her best friend Di are looking for clues to who killed a pair of brothers.
Their investigation becomes even more desperate and intense when Liv’s father-in-law and husband become suspects pulled in for questioning. In a small town where everybody knows everybody (and their business), Liv and Di need to follow every clue and breadcrumb in order to catch a killer.
Death Crashes the Party is chock full of wry humor and a pair of sly Southern sleuths. The story seems straightforward — right up until the sharp turn off the path of suspicion that leads Liv and Di to a place no one could have seen coming. A great read!
