A 48-year-old single mom might actually prefer starvation to going out to the grocery store and encountering people.
A 50-year-old hospice nurse trying his best to care for his cantankerous and meddling mother.
Two Gen-X introverts in a small town in Washington State meet in an online video game group and turn one another’s worlds upside down in Cathy Yardley‘s ROLE PLAYING. Who says love stories are only for the young?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Maggie, the female main character, does not suffer fools, and I am here for it! I love her grumpy personality, her dedication to her son, and her determination not to let others see just how big her heart truly is. Aiden is the funny, kind, and considerate guy that makes the best kind of book boyfriend. Their meet-cute is hilarious: he assumes she’s an octogenarian; she thinks he’s her son’s age. When Maggie learns Aiden broke his foot and is having trouble getting around, she volunteers to bring him some lunch. How exactly they go from Maggie brandishing a frying pan at Aiden in his own kitchen to falling in love is something you’ll have to discover on your own–I promise you won’t regret it!
