Murder on the Rocks, by Allyson K. Abbott

If the bar from Cheers were in Milwaukee, it’d be Mack’s. Owner and operator Mackenzie Dalton practically grew up at the bar under the watchful eye of her dad. Being surrounded by an eccentric community of friends has kept Mack going in the past eight months since her father’s murder. But the balancing act she has been tiptoeing through turns completely topsy-turvy when she finds a body in the alley behind the bar. Suddenly Mack and all of her friends are on the list of suspects. But she won’t sit on the sidelines while a killer targets everything and everyone she loves. She enlists Detective Duncan Albright to work undercover, and together they put the pieces in place–including just how exactly Al Capone is involved!

MURDER ON THE ROCKS is well-crafted, unique, and incredibly readable. An altogether enjoyable book made even better by being set in my hometown.
